The CHEST Foundation and the ACCP Industry Advisory Council sponsored yet another successful community outreach event on November 2, 2009, at Sycamore Canyon Elementary School, in Santee, CA. Volunteers from the Ambassadors Group and Women’s Health NetWork presented the Lung Lessonssm program, developed by The CHEST Foundation, to third through sixth grade schoolchildren. The children were taught facts about asthma, the dangers of smoking, and overall good lung health. This event takes place annually during the CHEST meeting.
